Position Summary
The Senior Accountant is a key member of the finance team, responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records and supporting the organization’s financial operations. This role requires 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience, strong technical skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. The Senior Accountant will play a critical role in managing general ledger activities, fixed assets, reconciliations, cash management, and audit preparation.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Prepare and post general journal entries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Manage the fixed asset register, including capitalization, depreciation, disposals, and periodic asset verification.
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies promptly.
- Oversee cash management activities, including monitoring bank balances, preparing cash flow forecasts, and supporting treasury operations.
- Support internal and external audit processes by preparing schedules, providing documentation, and responding to auditor inquiries.
- Participate in month-end and year-end close activities, including account analysis and financial reporting.
- Assist in the preparation, review, and analysis of budgets and forecasts; provide variance analysis and support budget owners as needed.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline accounting processes and improve operational efficiency.
- Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff as needed.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accounting standards and best practices.
Compliance:
- Contribute to achieving accounting operational standards through participation in strategic planning and process improvement.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations; stay current with legislative changes and guide management on necessary actions.
- Uphold financial security by enforcing internal controls.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
Experience Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 5–7 years of relevant accounting experience, with demonstrated expertise in general ledger, fixed assets, reconciliations, and cash management.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and internal controls.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUP, IF statements, INDEX/MATCH, Joint, Solver, Conditional Formatting, Advanced Charting)
- Familiarity with ERP/accounting systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Epicor, or similar).
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Work Environment
This position is an on-site role, with one flex day per week of remote work.

Compensation Data
Salary range for this role is $92,000/year to $98,000/year. The range listed is based on market data and internal benchmarks. Actual compensation may vary depending on a candidate’s experience, skills, and qualifications.
