Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled PLM Solutions Specialist to oversee and drive the strategic and operational management of our Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system, Aras Innovator. This role is critical to ensuring that our PLM system effectively supports and integrates with our enterprise-wide design, development, and manufacturing processes.
The ideal candidate will have deep technical expertise with Aras Innovator PLM and a strong understanding of how PLM connects with CAD environments, quality management systems, and manufacturing process management. This individual will also play a key role in defining and executing the digital thread strategy to enable comprehensive, integrated product data management across the organization.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
- PLM System Management
- Serve as the primary owner and subject matter expert for our Aras Innovator PLM system.
- Oversee system configuration, administration, upgrades, and maintenance to ensure optimal performance and scalability.
- Develop and enforce PLM governance, standards, and best practices.
- Evaluate current Aras Innovator PLM usage to identify gaps, inefficiencies, and misalignments with business workflows.
- Conducting structured root cause analysis for system or process issues impacting data integrity, change control, and collaboration.
- Stakeholder Management
- Act as a strategic partner to engineering, quality, manufacturing, IT, and executive teams to understand business needs and translate them into PLM requirements and solutions.
- Facilitate effective communication and alignment among cross-functional teams to ensure successful adoption and utilization of PLM capabilities.
- Project Planning & Execution
- Lead PLM-related projects, including system enhancements, integrations, and process improvements.
- Define project scope, timelines, resource requirements, and deliverables; manage budgets and risks.
- Oversee change management efforts to ensure smooth implementation and user adoption.
- Develop and execute a “get-well” roadmap that addresses both short-term stability and long-term scalability of the PLM platform.
- Digital Thread & Integration
- Develop and drive initiatives to create and maintain a comprehensive digital thread, enabling seamless data flow and traceability across the product lifecycle.
- Integrate PLM with CAD systems (e.g., SolidWorks, NX, Creo) to support design data management and engineering change processes.
- Enable connectivity with quality management systems (QMS) and manufacturing process management (MPM) to support end-to-end product realization.
- Continuous Improvement
- Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend and implement innovations that enhance PLM capabilities.
- Support training and development initiatives to strengthen PLM literacy across the organization.
Experience Required
- Bachelor’s degree in the field of engineering, supply chain, or manufacturing and/or 5+ years equivalent work experience.
- Working knowledge of engineering change control and ISO standards requirements
- Working knowledge of environmental regulations and substance restrictions within the electronics manufacturing industry.
- Working within an IATF 16949 standards-driven organization would be an advantage
- Worldwide technical engineering operations support.
- Experience with Aras Innovator PLM highly preferred.
- Extensive experience with PLM, ERP, and CAD.
- Factory automation, database experience, and data analytics are a plus.
- Computer skills, including MS Office.
- Excellent knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
Work Environment
This position is an on-site role, with 1 flex day per week of remote work.
Competencies
Compensation Data
Salary range for this role is $125,000/year to $135,000/year. The salary range listed is based on market data and internal benchmarks. Actual compensation may vary depending on a candidate’s experience, skills, and qualifications.
