Position Summary
The HR Coordinator is responsible for delivering high quality HR operational and administrative support, while also assisting in the development and coordination of employee training programs and enhancing internal employee communication and engagement initiatives. This role plays a key part in ensuring HR processes run smoothly, HR programs are well coordinated, and employees experience timely, accurate, and effective HR support. The ideal candidate is organized, people‑focused, creative, and energized by contributing to a positive workplace culture.
This is a part-time role requiring 30-32 hours per week.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
HR Operations & Administrative Support
- Provide day‑to‑day administrative support for core HR operations, including employee lifecycle activities (new hires, changes, terminations, and record maintenance).
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation in designated HR systems and files.
- Coordinate onboarding logistics, orientation sessions, and related documentation.
- Support performance management and benefits processes by validating data, tracking changes, and responding to routine employee inquiries.
- Provide administrative support for U.S. and Canadian payroll processing, including reviewing timecards and ensuring payroll changes are entered accurately and on time.
- Process and track routine payroll changes, including new hires, terminations, compensation changes, bonuses, deductions, and other employee updates.
- Review payroll reports for accuracy and assist with identifying and resolving discrepancies.
- Maintain payroll records, tracking spreadsheets, and supporting documentation, and respond to routine employee payroll questions.
- Assist with compliance‑related documentation, audits, and reporting requirements.
- Ensure confidentiality and compliance with company policies and employment laws
- Prepare HR reports, trackers, and summaries as requested by HR leadership.
- Serve as a point‑of‑contact for general HR questions, escalating sensitive or complex issues appropriately.
Employee Communication & Engagement
- Support internal HR communications, including policy updates, HR announcements, training notices, and engagement initiatives.
- Assist with the development and distribution of employee communications via approved channels (email, intranet, postings, etc.).
- Help coordinate employee engagement activities, programs, or events that promote connection, culture, and communication.
- Participate in gathering employee feedback (surveys, focus group logistics, pulse checks) and assist with summarizing results.
- Assist with employer branding initiatives, including content for careers pages, social media, and recruitment materials
Training & Development Support
- Assist in the coordination and administration of employee training programs (e.g., scheduling sessions, sending communications, tracking attendance, maintaining training records).
- Support the development of training materials, presentations, and reference guides in partnership with HR leadership and functional trainers.
- Help manage learning calendars and communications related to training initiatives.
- Track training completion, certifications, and participation metrics.
General HR Support
- Collaborate closely with HR Manager and HR leadership to support ongoing initiatives and projects.
- Maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion in handling sensitive employee information.
- Perform other HR administrative duties and special projects as assigned.
Experience Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Communications, Marketing, or a related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
- 1–3 years of experience in HR
- Prior payroll experience in the US and Canada preferred
- Experience with HRIS and ATS systems preferred; willingness to learn new technologies
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- High attention to detail with strong organizational and time‑management abilities
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment
Work Environment
This position is an on-site role, with one flex day per week of remote work.

Compensation Data
Salary range for this role is $26.44/hour - $31.25/hour. The range listed is based on market data and internal benchmarks. Actual compensation may vary depending on a candidate’s experience, skills, and qualifications.
