Position Summary
At the Toronto Design Center, our Product Development teams provide solutions to our customers through the design and development of AC-DC and DC-DC power supplies.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Analyzing an already released product’s post-customer interaction if any failure of the product occurs in the field.
- Perform failure analysis on the returned products and generate detailed Failure Analysis reports. Drive root cause and correction based on the failure analysis done.
- Support failure analysis for design related failures during product development.
- May occasionally interact with customers to determine additional causes of product failure.
- Review Failure analysis performed by contract manufacturing for completeness and drive root cause and corrective action.
- Work both independently and with a team to achieve the best possible results of the analysis.
Experience Required
- An Electrical / Electronic Engineering Degree with 1 – 3 years’ experience in electronics or equivalent

- OR Diploma in Electrical/Electronic engineering with at least 5 years hands on experience in failure analysis with power electronics

- Knowledge of components used in power supplies such as MOSFET, diode, micro-controller, comparator, amplifier, capacitor, magnetics, etc.
- Understanding of and ability to implement problem solving techniques like 8D, 5Why, and FT etc.
- Experience with physics of failure (PoF) relating to electronic components such as corrosion, voltage/current overstress, thermal overstress, fatigue, mechanical shock/vibration, etc.
- Knowledge of PCB and electronic component functions, limitations, packaging, etc.
Work Environment
This position is an on-site role, with one flex day per week of remote work.

Compensation Data
Salary range for this role is $71,100/year to $80,600/year. The range listed is based on market data and internal benchmarks. Actual compensation may vary depending on a candidate’s experience, skills, and qualifications.
