Cost Estimation Engineer

Position Summary
This role will be responsible for the analyzing and producing various results based on data derived from company costs. This role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 3 days in-office, 2 days work-from-home.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Support the leadership team to interpret financial data to track against financial objectives
- Partner with the broader Finance and business organization to build robust reporting tools
- Execute and analyze product costing with a focus on reducing waste and improving efficiency
- Support sourcing decisions by creating financial analysis for total landed cost vs in-house manufacturing
- Assist with costing analysis for new product business case preparation
- Prepare and analyze monthly costing reports by department and category
- Approve and assist with costing on new and existing products
- Review, update, and maintain activity rates
- Review company allocations
- Analyze costs associated with BOMs and manufacturing routings and recommend adjustments
- Analyze material, labor, and overhead costs to recommend cost-saving strategies
- Assist Product Management in analyzing product profitability by manufacturing location, product, and customer.
- Compare monthly actual results to budget and projections
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to lead process improvement initiatives.
- Audit and analyze inventory to understand and support the remedy of inventory valuation deviations
- Develop compelling dashboards and data visualizations to improve understanding of key business metrics
Experience Required
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering preferred or related field (including finance with a heavy background in manufacturing)
- 6+ years of hands on experience in industrial engineering, process optimization, and cost analysis in a manufacturing environment
- Demonstrates a thorough level of knowledge in cost accounting methods
- Proven record of success in running and updating cost modeling systems
