Calex Manufacturing Inc., which was acquired by Murata Power Solutions in 2018, has been in business for more than 50 years, designing and manufacturing DC-DC power converters for automotive, transportation and industrial applications. In recent years, Calex has been developing products for emerging markets such as drones, autonomous driving, hybrid and electric vehicles, in addition to the legacy products.
Calex is located in beautiful Northern California, approximately 50 miles north of San Jose and 30 miles east of San Francisco. Our corporate facility is in the city of Concord which is within easy commute distance of affordable housing, a rare trait for the Bay Area.
Position Summary
Responsible for leading the site’s Quality Control activities and requirements on production products and processes. Lead and/or work with others on driving continuous improvement and best-in-class execution that maximizes customer satisfaction through world class on time delivery.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Work closely with Product Quality engineer.
- Provide guidance from quality perspective, customer requirements, standards, perform Audits.
- Handle any production and product related quality issues. Guide manufacturing team as per customer requirements and IPC / IATF standards.
- Working closely with manufacturing team to ensure product quality, train operators as and when needed for quality requirements.
- Responsible to perform Out of Box audits.
- Maintain equipment Calibration
- Provide support to the global QA team
- Ensure that all the quality check procedures put in place by the company are followed during every production phase.
- Create or assist with the creation of comprehensive documentation for quality issues and note the corrective actions that were taken
- Educate production team on quality control issues and work with departmental managers to improve overall company safety and product quality
- Create or assist with the creation of process checklists and coordinate quality inspections with departmental managers
- Collect and Update quality metrics.
- General manufacturing/process related quality support on manufacturing floor.
Experience Required
- High School diploma required; Associates or collage degree preferred
- 3+ years of experience in a production or manufacturing quality assurance and quality control or related industry experience
- Experience in manufacturing or production line
- Ability to read and understand work instructions
- Ability to read and understand drawings
- Ability to understand and follow procedures
- Proficient in a variety of computer applications
- Strong regard for quality assurance according to company and industry standards
- Good knowledge about industry products and processes
- Understanding and in depth Knowledge of quality standards such as IPC, IATF and other electronic manufacturing related standards.
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, walk, talk, hear, and use hands to operate equipment and handle materials and parts. Occasionally required to detect odors, stoop, kneel and reach with hands and arms and to crouch, crawl, climb or balance. Must be able to frequently lift up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and color vision.
Work Environment
While performing essential responsibilities, the employee regularly works near moving parts, is exposed to fumes or airborne particles and to toxic or caustic chemicals. Occasionally exposed to vibration and extreme heat. The noise level is usually moderate.

Compensation Data
Salary range for this role is $72,000 per year to $77,000 per year.
